On Friday, May 16, Irvine Valley College (IVC) held its 40th Annual Scholarship Celebration, demonstrating a resounding display of generosity and commitment to student success. The Foundation awarded a total of $584,555 in scholarships, showcasing the community’s strong belief in the power of education. A total of 578 awards were distributed to deserving IVC students.
Notably, the celebration was further enriched by $276,615 in outside scholarships and an additional $63,637 in emergency funds and bookstore vouchers—reinforcing the Foundation’s mission to support students from every angle. This past year, direct support to students reached an all-time high of $924,807—an increase of $137,540, or 18%, compared to last year. This record-breaking figure underscores the unwavering commitment of the IVC Foundation to empower students and foster academic success.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the generosity of our scholarship donors. Contributions, regardless of their size, play an indispensable role in breaking down financial barriers and nurturing student success. Through their generous financial support, we are not only investing in education but also instilling belief in students' dreams, sending a powerful message of encouragement and empowerment,” said IVC President Dr. John Hernandez.
The annual scholarship award ceremony reflects the strong support for the work of the IVC Foundation as they believe in contributing to a meaningful experience that enhances teaching and learning at IVC.
