Steps to Enroll in the CWE Program for Students

  1. Be current IVC student.
  2. Secure Cooperative Work Experience/Internship. Students looking for CWE opportunities may contact Career Center at IVC for assistance.
  3. Complete CWE Student Enrollment Application and submit to CWE Faculty. Students unsure of their CWE Faculty may contact CWE Program Coordinator for assistance. A CWE faculty will be assigned to each student in the program.
  4. Student will be contacted by the CWE Faculty for CWE orientation.

  1. Meet with Cooperative Work Experience Faculty for Cooperative Work Experience Orientation.
    1. Review student forms
    2. Determine Cooperative Work Experience units to earn.
  2. Complete Cooperative Work Experience Student Learning Objectives.
    1. View Developing S.M.A.R.T Learning Objectives for instructions and examples.
    2. Learning Objectives must be agreed and approved by Cooperative Work Experience Academic faculty and Cooperative Work Experience employer/supervisor prior to Cooperative Work Experience enrollment.
  3. Receive Cooperative Work Experience ticket Number and APC to enroll.

During Cooperative Work Experience

  1. Learn & Earn.
    1. Complete and maintain Student Time Report for each day worked and prepare to submit when requested during the course.
    2. Complete Cooperative Work Experience course requirements per your Cooperative Work Experience Course Outline/Curriculum. This may include reports and/or readings.
    3. Meet with Cooperative Work Experience Academic Faculty and Cooperative Work Experience employer for mid-point assessment to review and evaluate learning objective progress.
  2. Notify Cooperative Work Experience Faculty with any changes, questions, or issues.

Completing Cooperative Work Experience

  1. Complete, sign, and submit all required student Cooperative Work Experience forms to your Cooperative Work Experience Faculty.
    1. Student Time Report signed by student, employer, and faculty.
    2. Student Program Evaluation assessing CWE  experience.
  2. Grade assessment.
    1. Meet with Cooperative Work Experience Faculty and Cooperative Work Experience employer/supervisor for Student Learning Objectives achievement and assessment.
    2. Demonstrate any written/oral presentation as required per your Cooperative Work Experience Course.
