Parking at IVC

Accessible parking spaces are available in each lot. A valid parking permit* is required along with a California Disabled Person Parking Placard. Those with valid parking permits* and placards can park in student, staff and disabled parking spaces.

Though this section is still in the AR’s, it is not in practice.  Students are instructed to obtain a Temporary Disabled Person Placard.  Employees already have access to staff parking.

Purchase a Parking Permit

Semester and annual parking permits are only available for purchase through MySite. Once signed into MySite, click My Information at the top left and select the Parking option from drop down menu. On the next page click Go to Parking Web Site to access your permit portal. Annual permits are only available during the fall semester.

Semester and annual permits will no longer be issued in a physical form. Your license plate or temporary license plate (or 17-digit VIN if you don’t have a license plate) will act as your permit.

Refunds

Students are eligible for a parking permit refund for two reasons:

1. Their class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment and the student is not enrolled in any other classes on campus during the semester; or
2. The student officially withdraws from all of their on-campus classes prior to the refund-eligible drop deadline.

To request a refund please visit the police dept of your assigned college, either Irvine Valley College or Saddleback College. Refund requests must be processed within the first four weeks of a regular term, or within the first two weeks of an eight-week term if the student only enrolled in an eight-week term within a regular term or summer session.

Daily parking permits are $5. Dispensers are near the entrances to lots 2, 5, 8 and 10. These permits are valid only in student parking spaces at IVC. Visit the Campus Map to see where the permit dispensers are located at IVC. Daily parking permits must be displayed such that the date, time, and location of the permit purchase and expiration are clearly visible through the windshield.

If you encounter a mechanical problem with one of the dispensers, report it to Campus Police at 949-451-5234 or the campus operator at 949-451-5100. It is your responsibility to obtain a valid parking permit and park legally.

• Sign into MySite, click My Information, or My Work, at the top left and select the Parking option from drop down menu. On the next page click Go to Parking Web Site to access your permit portal.
• To update the vehicle assigned to your digital permit select the My Permits button within the parking portal and click View for the currently active permit (check the dates).
  • Go to the “SELECTED VEHICLE” section.
  • Click the red trash can next to the listed vehicle to remove it from the permit.  This does not delete the vehicle from your profile.
  • Use the drop-down list to select the vehicle you will be parking on campus and click save.
  • Or use the “To Add a new vehicle, click here.”

Parking citations are issued for violations of the district's Traffic and Parking Regulations under the authority of the California Vehicle Code, section 21113(a). All other California Vehicle Code (CVC) sections are enforced on campus. Penalties range from $38 to $250, depending on the type of violation. Below is a brief list of violations and fine amounts. Complete copies of the district Traffic & Parking Regulations are available at CP 100 near Lot 8.

An administrative review process is available under CVC 40215. You may file an administrative review in CP 100 or online by visiting Contest a Citation under "Parking" in the left navigation menu.
