Understanding Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Every faculty, staff, and student should be aware that the College prohibits all forms of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation. There are reporting options and resources available to students who may have experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, or any other form of gender discrimination. Contact a Title IX Officer to report an incident or learn more about available on-campus and community resources.
