The piano area is dedicated to exceptional instruction, inspiring performance opportunities, and meaningful mentorship to students at all levels. As an All‑Steinway School, we offer a premier environment for learning, practicing, and performing. Our programs serve music majors, adult learners, transfer students, and community members in a vibrant and inclusive community.

Piano Performance Master Classes

Weekly master classes are held in IVC’s state-of-the-art Recital Hall, giving students the chance to perform on a Steinway D concert grand and receive expert feedback from faculty and guest artists. These classes bring together a diverse group of musicians—ranging from music majors preparing for auditions to lifelong pianists—creating a supportive, inspiring musical environment.

Chamber Music (with Piano)

Pianists are matched with string, woodwind, or brass players to form duos, trios, and quartets. Groups rehearse during class and perform in recitals and master classes throughout the semester. Students may join with pre-formed ensembles or contact Dr. Susan Boettger for placement.
