ASIVC Student Government Elections

To be an eligible candidate, you must:

1. A student who is elected or appointed serve as an officer in ASIVC shall meet all of the following requirements (in accordance with Section 76061 of the Education Code):
   1. The student shall be enrolled at IVC at the time of election, and throughout their term, with a minimum of five (5) cumulative semester units at IVC.
      1. The student shall meet and maintain the minimum standards of scholarship prescribed for IVC students by the South Orange County Community College District.
   2. Or, the student shall be enrolled in an adult education program offered by IVC pursuant to Article (commencing with Section  84900) of Chapter  5 of Part 50, at the time of the election and throughout their term.
   3. Or the student is enrolled at IVC at the time of election, and throughout the student's term, and is a disabled student, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 84850.
2. A student elected must have Irvine Valley College listed as their College of Record.
3. A student elected shall not be on academic or progress probation and must be in good disciplinary standing.
4. A student elected must adhere to the Student Leader Expectations form unless alternative arrangements are made with the ASIVC Advisor.
5. A student elected must have an maintain a minimum G.P.A of 2.5 in all college units completed at Irvine Valley College.
6. A student elected must have paid the ASIVC Access fee each semester once elected.
7. Each student leader is required to attend a weekly ASIVC Legislative Meetings. The meetings are to be determined.

All candidates must attend one mandatory Candidate Orientation meeting to remain eligible. The scheduled candidate orientation meetings are below:

• Thursday, February 6  |  11:30 am - 12:30 pm
• Friday, February 7  |  9 - 10 am 
• Monday, February 10  |  4 - 5 pm
