Fast-track educational opportunities for incoming 9th graders at select high schools that are admitted to the 4-year program
The Early College Program (ECP) at Irvine Valley College (IVC) is to provide the opportunity for academically qualified high school students to complete the Intersegmental General Education Course (IGETC) Certification and potentially an associate’s degree (additional units are needed outside of ECP to obtain an associate’s degree). The program is specifically designed to allow students who plan to attend a California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) campus with almost two years worth of transferable college credit, saving thousands of dollars in tuition and valuable time that can be directed toward a career or graduate work. Classes offered through ECP are for college credit and carry the same rigor and content as the course offered on the IVC campus. All courses offered through ECP transfer to both the CSU and UC.
