Placement Overview

You must have access to MySite in order to complete the Guided Self Placement (GSP) process for math and English/ESL. Completion of the GSP is part of the matriculation process and provides placement in English/ESL and math.

Proof of successful completion of math and/or English/ESL courses must be submitted in the form of an official transcript in order to be considered for placement purposes. Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted.

Review, complete and submit the IVC Request for Prerequisite Clearance form and include any supporting documentation with the form submission. 

For student record security, forms are required to be sent from district issued email addresses only. Forms from other accounts will not be processed. District issued emails are "student_name[at]ivc.edu" or "student_name[at]saddleback.edu".

It is required for you to first apply for admission to IVC before you satisfy any of the methods listed above. Speak with a counselor if you would like to challenge your math placement beyond transfer level math.
